Service

Kona Airport Transfers (KOA)

Kona International Airport is an open-air terminal with no jet bridges, no baggage carousels in the usual sense, and a rental-car center that can swallow an hour of your first afternoon. A private transfer skips all of it. Your chauffeur meets you at the arrivals lanai, handles the bags, and has you on Queen Kaahumanu Highway within minutes of clearing the gate.

Included

What the service covers

  • Curbside meet and greet at the KOA arrivals lanai
  • Live flight tracking with no charge for airline delays
  • Complimentary wait time on arrivals
  • Child seats and golf, surf, and dive gear on request
  • Departure transfers timed to your check-in window

How the arrival works

Send us your flight number when you book. We track the inbound leg, so a late departure from the mainland simply moves your pickup. When you walk off the tarmac, your chauffeur is waiting with a name board, takes the luggage, and walks you to the vehicle in the adjacent lot. Most guests are moving within ten minutes of deplaning.

Departures and red-eyes

KOA is small but the security line is not always quick, and the return-flight rush between 2pm and 8pm is real. We build your departure pickup around your airline and terminal, factor in the Kohala Coast drive, and get you there with time to return the golf clubs and buy the coffee.

Why not a shared shuttle

Shared shuttles wait to fill, then run a loop of resort stops. On the Kohala Coast that can add an hour to a 35-minute drive. A private transfer runs direct, and after a nine-hour flight with kids or gear, that hour matters more than the price difference.

FAQ

Questions guests ask

How long is the drive from Kona airport to Waikoloa?

About 20 to 25 minutes northbound on Queen Kaahumanu Highway, traffic depending. Mauna Lani is roughly 30 minutes, and Mauna Kea Beach and Hapuna are about 35.

Do you track flights?

Yes. Give us your flight number and we monitor it. If your flight is delayed we adjust the pickup at no extra charge.

Can you handle golf clubs, surfboards, or dive gear?

Yes, tell us what you are bringing when you request a quote so we can plan luggage space correctly.

Is Uber available at Kona airport?

Rideshare exists on the island but coverage is thin and unpredictable, especially late at night, for Kohala Coast resorts, and for groups with luggage. A reserved private transfer is the reliable option.
