Fifteen minutes, and why that matters
Hualalai sits at Kaupulehu, about eight miles north of the airport, which makes it the shortest luxury resort transfer on the island. You clear the arrivals lanai, cross the 1801 flow, and turn in at the Kaupulehu gate before most arriving passengers have found the rental car shuttle. On departures it means you can be in the ocean ninety minutes before your flight.
How we work at the property
Hualalai expects transport to be invisible. Unmarked black vehicle, uniformed chauffeur, no branding, no upselling, no unsolicited conversation. Bags are handled at both ends. The security gate at Kaupulehu logs arrivals, so we provide the guest name in advance and the entry is clean. For the Hualalai Resort private residences we work directly with the residence manager or your concierge.
Leaving the property
Kaupulehu is deliberately removed from everything, so anything off resort means a vehicle. The usual runs are dinner in Kailua-Kona, twenty minutes south, the Kohala Coast resorts to the north, and the Kona coffee belt up in Holualoa. Hourly chauffeur service is the practical choice when you want a couple of stops without watching the clock or arranging separate rides back.
Concierge and residence billing
We work regularly with resort concierge desks and villa managers, including direct billing, so a transfer arranged on a guest's behalf does not turn into a payment conversation in the arrival court. Standing daily service for longer stays is available and common for residence owners and their guests.
