Above one of the best beaches in the state
Hapuna Beach Resort sits on the Mauna Kea campus overlooking Hapuna, about twenty eight miles and thirty five minutes north of KOA. Direct transfer with meet and greet at the arrivals lanai, luggage handled, no resort loop.
Golf and campus movement
The Hapuna and Mauna Kea courses, the two hotels, and Kaunaoa and Hapuna beaches all sit on the same campus with a shuttle between them. What the shuttle does not cover is anything off property, which is where we come in: dinner at Mauna Lani or Kawaihae, tee times elsewhere on the coast, and beach days at Waialea or Kikaua.
Day trips from Hapuna
Waimea for lunch and paniolo country, Hawi and Pololu Valley to the north, the Waipio lookout, and the Mauna Kea summit for sunset and stargazing at 9,200 feet. The summit trip in particular is one to hand off, since the descent is steep, unlit, and done at altitude after dark.

Thirty five minutes to KOA plus security and agricultural inspection. We plan the pickup backward from your airline and, if you want, put a beach or lunch stop in the middle of it.
